The neuter one happens to be Sunday, while the masculine ones are Sunday's victims according to the [[Seven elements]] diagram. In other words, to determine the gender of the word for a specific "day of the week" in Russian, just check the Seven Elements diagram: if it can beat Sunday, it's feminine; if it loses to Sunday, it's masculine; if it is Sunday itself, then it's neuter.
